Post-processor generator
Assisted creation of post-processors for machine tools from manufacturer specifications.

Context
Each new machine tool or CNC evolution required developing a dedicated post-processor, with long test cycles between process engineering and shop-floor teams. Teams had to interpret heterogeneous manufacturer specifications, creating production ramp-up delays and repeated manual adjustments.
Approach
We developed an assisted generator that automatically structures manufacturer specifications, proposes a parameterized post-processor baseline, and guides CAM experts through critical validation points. A simulation module tests G-code paths and detects inconsistencies before machine execution.
Results
Post-processor creation lead time moved from several weeks to a few days depending on machine complexity. Shop-floor adjustment loops decreased, with better first-program reliability and faster ramp-up of new machine configurations.
